The thought that comes to mind is, "What's next?"
The LORD's been doing a work in me, over the last six or seven months...and probably even longer than that.
Let's just say I've been having these conversations with Him, that start with, "Who, me?" "Uhh, did I hear You right?" "You want me to, 'What?' " and my favorite, most common response, "Really?"
Now, The LORD and I have spoken quite a bit over the years. He knows me so well; He knows where my weaknesses are, and where I tend to mess up, practically everyday.
And He knows I really mean it when I pray the scriptures, "...Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts..." (still from Psalm 139:23 NIV)
He knows I mean it. I also am ready for what's next.
You see, the Lord has been preparing me, equipping me, inviting me to trust Him with the next 'page', His next thing for me.
•He called me to be artistic, to create sculptures and other creative endeavors-- He gave me the vision to see His Hand in my artwork.
•He called me to speak--He gave me the ability to understand, apply and explain His Word with common things around me.
•He called me to write--He made it possible to attend writer's conferences, and make friends from all over the country, where I could learn my craft.
After wrestling with Him about this call on my life (see above questions), I told God, (yes, I boldly approached Him--see Isaiah 1:18) He would have to prepare me to do this, if this is indeed what He had in mind.
I could almost hear Him smile.
The enemy will NOT keep me from doing what God has enabled me to do for Him.
There. I said it.
My word for this year is EXPECTANCY. So I wait.
I noticed, when I drive down the road, I look, with expectancy, from side to side, alert to any jumping deer or darting squirrel (or whatever else I may find on the side of the road. To read about THAT story, click here).
I have the confidence to take that step, that unknown, "what's next?". In the last seven to ten days, I've seen evidence the time to step out is now.
My work is not a hobby; it's what I'm called to do.
My pastor preached on a whole lot of good Word this past Sunday. It was the culmination of the affirmation I received in early September, 2012.
I have been created for 'just such a time as this'. (Esther 4:14B--my life verse)
What's next for you? Where is God taking you? Invite Him to search you and see...
Wherever He will take you is better than where you've been. He will prepare you for just such a time.
Tell me your next step.
