Resurrection Sunday

"Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw the stone had been removed from the entrance."

This is the first sentence in John 20. The stone was not moved so Jesus could get out; it was moved so we could see into the empty tomb. JESUS IS ALIVE! Make no mistake in your mind. It was all done for us, so we would believe.

Starting today, I will be participating in 'The Lazarus Experiment'. { lazarusexperiment@groups.facebook.com } Lazarus was brought back from the dead by Jesus Christ. What do you think he did when he came out of the tomb he had been in for four days? I think he chose to live purposely, not on auto-pilot or routine.

I actually started 'purposeful living' yesterday. I have been a sculptress for many years but haven't been practicing what I preached (so to speak). I chose to start a sculpture than GOD had put on my heart weeks ago. In my mind it was already complete, but I had nothing to show for it. I worked on the sculpture for many hours and was strangely energized by the whole experience. That was when I knew, beyond any doubt, that it was God sculpting within me; having me do what He wanted me to do. I was able to lose myself completely while working with my hands; a sign that this is what you were created to do.

I have other sculptures in my mind; some have crude pictures drawn as I think out ideas. My journal has no lines so I may draw as He leads and not be bound by a lined page. Sometimes He will bring an image to mind while I read a devotion; sometimes from a comment heard or spoken.

Being mindful of these fleeting moments is a way I plan to live purposefully in the days to come, thinking of What Would Lazarus Do?

These things I Know: Jesus Is Alive He Lives In Me He Has His Best In Mind For Me I Need to Share Him With Those who Don't Know Him I Have Eternal Life With HIM Who Died For Me
