Anchored in Place

Because God wanted to make the unchanging nature of his purpose very clear to the heirs of what was promised, he confirmed it with an oath. God did this so that, by two unchangeable things in which it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain, where Jesus, who went before us, has entered on our behalf. He has become a high priest forever, in the order of Melchizedek. Hebrews 6:17-20 NIV Have you ever felt like a Cheerio? Like you're just floating and bobbing around in this bowl of milk we call life? Stuff happens at work to make your emotions frazzle, driving on the highway causes panicky stress, friendships run hot and cold and then there's the never ending 'to-do' list.

How many times do we get caught up in the Same Stuff/Different Day scenario?

I know I have visited this place frequently but I don't have to live there. God's Promise in Hebrews says so. We are the heirs of His Promise; He is My Anchor. I am so grateful to Him for His unchanging love for me. Did you ever try to keep a Cheerio down? No matter how many times you push it down in the milk, it keeps popping up to the surface.

I may feel tossed about by my circumstances, but I know to Whom I'm anchored!
