A Worker Approved

I came face-to-face with great customer service today.I stopped at a surgical supply house to pick up a brace for my husband's sprained ankle. I was greeted by a woman's cheery,"How can I help you?" from behind the desk. After explaining my mission, I was told that the company no longer handles the brace I need. However, she proceeded to hand me a type-written list of all the places I could get the brace I needed.

This woman took the time to ask where I lived, and recommended the closest one, wrote out directions, and made sure I could get to where I needed to be. The list she handed me was not something her company provided; it was a list she had made herself, siting, "People have to know where they can go to get these things."

I asked her if her boss was around; I wanted to tell them what a great job she was doing! She laughed and said no, but if I was a praying woman, I could say a prayer for her.

I smiled.

I told her I was indeed a praying woman and I would be happy to pray for her.

We chatted for a moment and then I turned to go. I paused and turned back to her-

"You know it was no accident I stopped in here today, right?"

We smiled and parted ways.

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. (2Timothy 2:15NIV)
